The Calvert Curriculum
Calvert’s time-tested school curriculum is built on the principle of subject integration. While students are learning about a plant’s life cycle in Science, they are reading about seasons in Language Arts and comparing plants and weather around the world in Geography. The Calvert Program starts with a rich foundation of reading, writing, and arithmetic. That foundation is then layered with history, science, music, geography, and the arts to ensure no gaps in instruction.CALVERT
At AES, we push the idea of subject integration further by providing students with opportunities beyond the classroom. Field trips, sports days, student exchanges and holiday celebrations are all incorporated into our larger curriculum. We strive to give our students direct access applying their learning in the real world.CALVERT
A Complete Education
Annie’s English School adopts the Calvert School model, which has educated more than 600,000 children throughout the past century. Internationally recognized, the program features fully accredited curriculum and textbooks from major educational publishers. The Calvert Curriculum sets high and clear expectations that foster a culture of achievement. Each teacher has their own set of detailed Lesson Manuals that give direction and support to ensure that every student will realize his or her full potential. Each student is given their own set of textbooks, workbooks, reading books and supplies according to each grade level. In addition, AES Calvert students are given access to online lessons and activities provided by the Calvert Program.
The Calvert Program differs from the standard ESL course in many ways. Our students are given a well-rounded education in a wide range of subjects. The courses are designed to stimulate our students in different fields of study, using different methods in order to further enhance their learning experience. Thus, students are taught from the very beginning to become creative and independent learners and thinkers.
